The Celebration Thing

Just because it’s my birthday soon🥳

Hey,

So it’s my birthday on Thursday. You’d think I’ll be excited but since I have no plans asides photo shoots and posting online, it’s really mellow. And you probably know this already but just in case, I’ll reiterate the fact that I have severe birthday blues, and so planning a celebration for myself isn’t really a thing I would willingly do.

Before I continue, how’re you doing? And what’s your favourite way to celebrate yourself? I’m really grateful for everyone around me who looks past my indecisiveness and takes over the whole thing. I have people planning my shoot this year (because if you left it to me, I wouldn’t do a thing for myself), and my past two birthdays have essentially been planned by them. You guys are amazing and if you ever see this, I genuinely want to say thank you, and God bless you.

No one really tells you how busy life can get, so much so that you forget some important days in your life. Because what do you mean I’ll be at work the whole day on my birthday and we aren’t revisiting the day? Low key, I wish I could go on a birthday cruise or vacation to enjoy living but you know, now’s not the time. There’s plenty of that in my future. I literally have things on my to-do list till September, and then I resume school.

So if life feels extremely and overwhelmingly busy for you at this time, I get it. We’re all in this together. But remember that you’re storing up for the future God has planned for you. In all of that though, don’t forget to love yourself. Try our solo dates. It could be something as simple as buying yourself lunch, or reading a book in a park or if you’re a home buddy like me, painting a new piece or something. Never let life get so busy that you start to forget how to live. And keep memories of every moment as well. I’m grateful that even if I don’t have a party to look back on this year, I’ll have the photos and videos. That’s bliss.
